Entry Course

About the Course

This course, which are open to both members and non-members of the Institute, are aimed at those professionals involved in or with an interest in arbitration. It is at the same level as the Introduction Courses.

 

This Course is for you if:

  • You wish to learn more about arbitration and its benefits to users.
  • You are considering further study to become a Chartered Arbitrator.
  • You wish to become an Associate member of the Chartered Institute.

Experienced Faculty:

The Course Director and tutors are practicing arbitrators.

The Course content includes:

  • Powers and Jurisdiction of the Arbitrator
  • Statement of Case
  • Preliminary Meetings
  • Costs and Interest
  • Procedure at the Hearing
  • Essentials of an Award

Course Assessment

If you wish to become an Associate member, you will usually be required to pass a two-hour test and the end of the course. In order to pass you will be required to demonstrate:

  • An understanding of the principles of good practice and procedure in arbitration.
  • An ability to organise and present information, ideas and descriptions clearly and logically.
