Introduction to Workplace Mediation
AimThis course provides participants with sufficient knowledge and understanding of mediation and the key skills needed to be able to facilitate the resolution of simple workplace disputes. This ‘hands-on’ course is designed to give those who attend an opportunity to gain understanding of how mediation works, see and experience mediation in action, and act as a mediator in a role-play. At the end of the course, participants will be issued with a certificate of completion and will be eligible to apply to be Associate members of the Institute.
DeliveryThe course is delivered over 2 days, and consists of short lectures, individual, paired and small group exercises and role-plays designed to improve ability to actively and effectively listen, question and empathise and understand the structure of a mediation meeting.
