Module 1 - Law of Obligations & Civil Evidence

About the Module

This module is divided into three parts:

  • The law of contract
  • The law of tort
  • The law of evidence

Aim

The aim of this module is to provide sufficient knowledge and understanding of the law of contract, tort and evidence to enable a non-lawyer, Associate member of the CIArb to progress to Membership. This module is to provide sufficient knowledge and understanding of the law of obligations and civil evidence to enable a non-lawyer, Associate member of the CIArb to progress to Membership

 

Delivery

This module is delivered by a mixture of home study and face-to-face tutorials - see study programme for details and is based on the law of England and Wales. It is not possible to provide this module to students who are not able to attend the tutorials.

 

The module is delivered over a period of six months.

 

Who should take this module?

  • To participate in the contract part, you must be an Associate member (ACIArb) of the CIArb and take each part consequentially in the order given above.
