CIArb Young Members' GroupThe future of the Chartered Institute, as with any organisation, is ultimately determined by the young and able people found within its ranks. Despite young members being important to and valued by the Institute, there has been no direct voice available to them, or specific focus on their needs. As of 16 May 2003, a new group has been set up with the sole purpose of providing a direction to, and focus on, the young members of the Institute. The inaugural meeting was held on the first day of the Institute's International Conference in Amsterdam and the first resolution was to form an Executive Committee to set the group on its way. The Executive Committee is currently developing a framework for the group and as soon as the ideas have reduced themselves to a working representation of the needs of young members, we will be getting back to you. However, high on the agenda will be social and training events and we would be very happy to get any feedback or suggestions you might have at this stage. Why not email us on ymg@arbitrators.org There are currently 10 members of the Executive Committee and we will be putting a few details about each of us on the web site shortly, so watch this space for more developments.
