Profile
The Kenya Branch of CIArb was formed in 1984 and currently has 246 members. It covers the East and Central Africa Region including the countries of Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
Members work in a wide range of business sectors including: architecture, engineering, quantity surveying, law, insurance, accounting and property valuation.
The aim of Kenya Branch is to be a Kenyan and regional leader in the promotion and education of professionals involved in arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Branch activities include running an active CPD programme, keeping a register of members and running events programmes and training courses.
The branch is planning to start a Young Members club. It has also been active in the development of a court-mandated mediation scheme which is currently with the Attorney General for enacting.
Kenya Branch is a member of the Association of Professional Societies of East Africa, Kenya Professional and International Law Institute.
