The Nigeria branch of CIArb is a well established branch (1998) with approximately 700 members, and has two active Chapters.

The current Chair is Mrs Olufunke Adekoya (2011/12).


The Nigeria Branch currently has over 800 members, working in a range of business sectors including law, accountancy, architecture, engineering, property development and insurance. The Nigeria Branch of CIArb was established in 1998 and covers the whole of Nigeria.

It aims to encourage and promote arbitration and ADR in Nigeria, to train professionals and aid in a better understanding of issues involved in arbitration and to provide a gateway to a worldwide network of ADR professionals.

The Nigeria Branch runs training and development courses, including a bite-size series on arbitration for its Young Members Group, focusing on analysis and discussion. It is planning to develop its Young Members Group (YMG) further.

Nigeria works in collaboration with SICA-FICA and The Lagos Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration.
