CIArb's Roebuck Lecture 2012

12 Bloomsbury Square, London | 17 May 2012 - 17 May 2012

Harmonization and International Arbitration with special reference to costs and appeals

The Roebuck Lecture will follow the AGM with guest speaker Dr. Michael O'Reilly.

The lecture will consider factors likely to promote or impede the further development of international arbitration. The hypothesis that greater harmonization of arbitral laws is required before the full potential of arbitration can be realized will be explored. The lecture will be illustrated using a variety of examples but with specific on costs awards and the vexed question of appeals on a point of law.

Time

The Roebuck Lecture will take place at approximately 19:20, after the AGM and is due to finish at approximately 20:00.
