Accelerated Route to Fellowship (International Arbitration)
ASSESSMENT DATES (attendance required) - 20 and 21 May 2010
This assessment programme provides candidates with a fast-track route to Fellowship.
Fellowship is a mark of excellence for arbitrators from which, having gained relevant experience, an arbitrator may progress to become a Chartered Arbitrator.
This fast-track route is designed for busy and experienced legally qualified professionals who have a law qualification and substantial knowledge of arbitration. The programme has been devised to take into account, knowledge and experience gained through academic and practical means.
Programme units
This programme comprises two distinct units:
- Arbitration Law & Practice Assessment
- Award Writing (Module 4) Training Course & Assessment
Unit 1 - Arbitration Law & Practice Assessment
Unit 1 Assessment consists of two intermingled elements:
1. An interactive 2-day practice-cum-assessment series of workshops, where situations will be presented to participants in groups for their consideration as to what to do in such circumstances. Participants are assessed in terms of their knowledge, judgment and interactive/self-presentation skills (and ability to draft specific documents related to the situations - see below, element 2).
2. Written exercises before and during the 2-day workshops:
The basis of the workshop and written exercises will be international arbitration.
Unit 2 - Module 4 Award Writing
Details of Module 4 Award writing are available and this shall be run to coincide with Unit 1.
