Introduction to International Arbitration (International Arbitration)
This course provides candidates with an understanding of the general principles of international arbitration and includes a comparison of the main alternative dispute resolution processes - arbitration, mediation and adjudication.
This course is designed for those that wish to learn more about international arbitration and its benefits to users, anyone new to the field of international arbitration who has not had legal training and wants to gain an awareness of international arbitration and those that are considering further study to develop their knowldge in the field of international arbitration and gain membership with the Institute.
The course is delivered over 1 day, and consists of a series of lectures, discussion workshops and includes a demonstration arbitration hearing which gives some candidates the opportunity of role play. Candidates will be required to complete a series of pre-course questions and an assignment at the end of the course.
At the end of the course, candidates will be issued with a certificate of completion and will be eligible to apply to be Associate members of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
