Module 2 - Mediation Accreditation Assessment (Mediation)
ASSESSMENT DATE (attendance required) - 8 April 2011
This is an assessment programme aimed at candidates who wish to become a CIArb Member and CIArb Accredited Mediator, and who want to represent clients in mediation. It is also beneficial to those who wish to use mediation skills in their current profession. This assessment programme builds on the CIArb training course that candidates have should have completed to get to this stage, or a CIArb approved equivalent course.
Candidates will participate as a Mediator in two mock-mediations of one-hour duration and may be involved in role-playing as clients. Candidates will be assessed in three categories: people skills, process skills and the management of the mediation. The one day assessment forms part of Module 2 - Commercial Mediation Accreditation Assessment. To pass, candidates must be competent in people skills in both mediations and in process skills and management skills at least once in either of their mediations.
In order to register on the course, candidates must have completed the 5 day CIArb mediation training course or a CIArb approved training course.
On successful completion of this course, candidates will be eligible to apply for Member grade of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and take advantage of a range of educational and professional benefits. Candidates will also become a CIArb Accredited Mediator once they have been admitted to CIArb Member grade.
