Module 1 - Workplace Mediation Training
TRAINING DATES (attendance required) - 21, 22, 23, 30 and 31 May 2012
This course is aimed at candidates who wish to become a CIArb Accredited Workplace Mediator. It is ideal for those who wish to add workplace mediation skills to their portfolio for use within their current role, to enhance their capability and credibility.
This course takes an in-depth look at the concept of workplace mediation, its background, and its likely future as an alternative dispute resolution tool within the workplace. Candidates will learn both the theory and practice of workplace mediation.
Specific aims of the module include enabling candidates to:
1. Understand what mediation is, its background, the difference between employment and workplace mediation and when mediation should be used
2. Increase their awareness of mediation, conflict and the business case for building better relationships at work
3. Build the necessary skills, strategies, competence and confidence to undertake effective mediation in the workplace
4. Transfer knowledge of mediation back to the workplace
5. Value how to resolve rather than settle cases
6. Appreciate how mediation fits with other parts of the HR framework
Module 1 - Workplace Mediation Training is an intensive 5 day course that will equip delegates with the skills to be an accredited and competent workplace mediator. The course has been developed and enhanced over several years, and offers a fully comprehensive and rewarding training experience.
The training is delivered by Globis Mediation Group and the principal trainers are Clive Lewis and Judith Hogarth.
