Exemptions
Exemptions are permitted to candidates who have successfully completed a course of study that is equivalent to a CIArb course.
CIArb will only approve courses whose syllabus, assessment and quality assurance mechanisms closely match CIArb courses.
Exemptions are split into two categories:
Recognised Course Providers are institutions that have been approved by CIArb from 2008 onwards, so that candidates on recognised courses in the field of non-court dispute resolution may receive exemptions based on the agreement with the institution. Candidates will be required to provide CIArb with a transcript / certificate to demonstrate successful completion of the recognised course.
Individual exemptions apply to candidates who have completed a course in the field of non-court dispute resolution with an institution that has not been approved as a 'Recognised Course Provider'. Candidates wishing to obtain an individual exemption must submit the following information:
- State the CIArb module(s) for which exemption is being sought
- Certified syllabus from the institution
- Details on how the course was assessed
- Transcript / Certificate to confirm successful completion of the course
