The event is titled ‘Cultural differences in advocacy in international arbitration’, hosted and moderated by Ms. Marijke Lengyel MCIArb, Chair of the Dutch Chapter and Senior Counsel with Conway & Partners, Rotterdam; and Mr. Niels van Loon FCIArb, Counsel Global Disputes with Jones Day, Amsterdam. The main topic of this webinar is on how ‘Cultural Differences between parties, counsel and arbitrators or mediators can affect both proceedings and outcomes in international dispute resolution’. Cultural Differences often play an unseen but significant role in how the opposing party or arbitrators are approached, how they respond, in written submissions, conducting negotiations, witness examinations and oral hearings.
