Costs continue to dominate the legal landscape and with continued pressure on legal budgets in 2017, it is vital to understand and control all aspects of costs and time, including those for arbitrations.

CIArb’s Costs in Arbitration Workshop 2017 will deliver first-hand and practical insight into how arbitral tribunals approach the issues relating to costs in arbitration. Combining the expertise of leading law firms, a recognised arbitrator and an experienced funder, the workshop will offer a 360- degree view of the costs landscape with a focus on five main areas:

  • Costs of arbitration proceedings
  • Practical cost budgeting
  • Security for costs
  • Third party funding
  • The award and assessment of costs

Upon completion of the workshop, participants will have a better understanding of how to control time and costs effectively and how to deal with security for costs and costs applications during proceedings.

The conference is aimed at lawyers involved in arbitrations, CFOs and executives involved in international affairs. Students and academics in the field will also benefit from gaining a better understanding of the ever important aspects of costs which continue to dominate for clients and practitioners alike.

We are offering a limited amount of student tickets for a discounted price. If you are interested in booking as a student, please email events@ciarb.org
