Student affiliateship
The student affiliateship scheme is open to all students with an interest in alternative dispute resolution (ADR), studying at universities throughout the world, for an affordable annual subscription fee.
Affiliateship is open to "any person studying at a University or higher education institution who is not otherwise qualified to join the CIArb at any other membership grade".
Benefits of affiliation
Student affiliateship provides the following benefits:
- access to the information & resources section, including professional guidelines and copies of law updates;
- opportunity to buy books - and other products and services through CIArb Advantage - at member discounts;
- ADR student online networking and discussion forum;
- online copies of our quarterly CIArb news magazine The Resolver;
- receive newsletter of your local CIArb Branch and free entry to local events;
- involvement by local CIArb Branch members in some lectures / host tutorials on real life ADR issues/cases/practical skills topics;
- discounts on CIArb organised Continuous Professional Development courses (when available) or central events;
- ability to use general features on this website eg, take part in specialist topic interest groups online, join in surveys/polls, receive ADR sector news;
- inclusion in CIArb's regular member emailing list and postal mailing list for receipt of ad-hoc reports or pamphlets and event invitations.
Also to be introduced...
- a CIArb 'study support zone' on this website providing reading lists, copies of useful articles, exam papers
- chance to take out a subscription to CIArb's Journal of Arbitration at a reduced rate
- access to an online searchable library of backcopies of the Journal.
All this for £20 per year (with a rolling annual renewal).
For students on courses at Recognised Course Providers, affiliateship is free of charge and information will be given to you through your course leader in 2010, allowing you to become a CIArb student affiliate for free.
