Student affiliateship

The student affiliateship scheme is open to all students with an interest in alternative dispute resolution (ADR), studying at universities throughout the world, for an affordable annual subscription fee.

Affiliateship is open to "any person studying at a University or higher education institution who is not otherwise qualified to join the CIArb at any other membership grade".

Benefits of affiliation

Student affiliateship provides the following benefits:

  • access to information & resources, including global professional standards, guidance and information, and copies of law updates;
  • ADR student on-line networking and discussion forum;
  • keep up-to-date with academic papers and topical articles through on-line copies of The Journal and The Resolver magazine - both published quarterly;
  • receive newsletter of your local CIArb Branch and entry to local events;
  • involvement by local CIArb Branch members in some lectures / host tutorials on real life ADR issues/cases/practical skills topics;
  • discounts on CPD accredited CIArb courses, conferences and seminars;
  • ability to use general features of the website e.g. take part in specialist topic interest groups online, join in surveys/polls, receive ADR sector news;
  • inclusion in CIArb's regular member emailing list and postal mailing list for receipt of ad-hoc reports or pamphlets and event invitations;
  • discounted products and services ranging from books and holidays;
  • access to the full on-line library of CIArb publications and journals, including copies of academic title The Journal dating back to 1915.

All this for £20 per year (with a rolling annual renewal).

For students on courses at Recognised Course Providers, affiliateship is free of charge and information will be given to you through your course leader in 2011, allowing you to become a CIArb student affiliate for free.
