Upgrading membership
Associate to Member grade
Member to Fellow grade
For members who successfully complete any of the Institute's qualifications, they may be eligible to qualify for an upgrade of their membership.
Upgrading from Associate (ACIArb) to Member (MCIArb) or from Member (MCIArb) to Fellow (FCIArb) can be achieved through study or experience.
If you wish to change your membership status you will need to complete and return the relevant upgrade form and provide payment for the difference in subscription fees. It is usual for upgrade applications to be dealt with within 14 days of receipt.
Please contact our Member Services team for an upgrade form on Tel: +44 (0)207 421 7430 or email membership@ciarb.org
From Fellow grade to Chartered Arbitrator status
Chartered Arbitrator is not a grade, but a status, and is CIArb's highest qualification for arbitrators.
Those Arbitration Fellows who have developed advanced knowledge and extensive experience as an arbitrator may apply to become a Chartered Arbitrator.
Details of how to apply, is available in this section, or by contacting Karen Cheel E: KCheel@ciarb.org
