In the Australasian Law Awards, an audience of over 650 top legal professionals from across Australia and New Zealand applauded the winner of the Resolution Institute Australian Arbitrator of the Year Award, John Wakefield FCIArb.
At this gala event at The Star in Sydney, legal professionals gathered to recognise outstanding contributions by legal firms, legal teams and individuals.
For the second year, the individuals included arbitrators and mediators.
In front of such a large audience of legal advisers, showcasing arbitration and mediation helps to keep the alternatives to litigation front of mind. It also acknowledges and promotes excellence in dispute resolution.

Significant progress on Advisory Centre for International Investment Law at UNCITRALIn 2017, UNCITRAL Working Group III (WGIII) was launched and was tasked with working on procedural reform of the investor state dispute settlement (ISDS) system. From 1-5 April 2024, Ciarb participated in the 48th session of WGIII in its capacity as an observer delegate.
