New CIArb Trustees and Presidents elected

Six new trustees have been elected from four regions to serve on CIArb's Board of Trustees from January 2011. In addition, John Wright FCIArb has been elected by the trustees to serve as Chairman of the Board of Trustees from January 2011.
The new trustees are:
- East Asia region:Colin Wall FCIArb, Chartered Arbitrator
- Africa region:Christopher Ojo FCIArb, Chartered Arbitrator
- Middle East / Indian Subcontinent region:Nayla Comair-Obeid FCIArb, Chartered Arbitrator
- UK region:Bruce Kettle MCIArb, Michael Stephens FCIArb and John Wright FCIArb
They were elected by the CIArb members in those regions and will serve a four-year term.
Elections are not required in the regions of Americas, Australasia and Europe as the existing trustees have not reached the end of their term of office.
Presidential elections
Meanwhile, Jeffrey Elkinson FCIArb and Vinayak Pradhan FCIArb have been elected to serve as Deputy President and Vice President of the Institute respectively in 2011, when Doug Jones SC FCIArb will be President. They were elected by the members' representatives at Congress in Heidelberg, Germany on 19-20 October.
Jeffrey Elkinson, a Chartered Arbitrator and barrister from Bermuda, will become President of the Institute in 2012 and Vinayak Pradhan, a Chartered Arbitrator, solicitor and advocate from Malaysia, will take up the role in 2013.
