The rollout of the new Pathways modules and Centralised Assessment has begun in the UK and in Europe.
Regional Pathway Leaders (RPLs) for this region were briefed on the new course materials in May. They are now preparing to brief their local AFL members in time to deliver the first new Modules 1 for Arbitration (International and Domestic) and Construction Adjudication from September onwards.
The first Centralised Assessments for those modules are scheduled to take place in December.
A new Assessment Faculty has been appointed to set assessment papers and provide model answers, to moderate those papers and model answers, and to mark and moderate candidates’ scripts.
Centralised Assessment will ensure that there is absolute consistency and fairness in the assessment process for all candidates across the world thus ensuring there is a global standard.
Candidates will need to register and pay for examinations separately. The training diary for 2018 provides details on these dates and costs.
Phase 2 of the rollout is scheduled to begin in the APAC region at the end of September and will continue on a region by region basis. This will be led by our new Head of Education and Training, Daniel Okin, who joined CIArb on 1 August.
We also welcome Nathalie Greenidge-Baston and Tolu Fakoya as Education Officers.
Both have joined the department this summer and will be working with Nicole Cooper, Pascale Temple and Karen Cheel on our pathway courses, Diplomas and new CPD courses.
Looking ahead to 2018
