The 24th Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot will take place in Vienna, Austria from 6-13 April 2017, and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) is honoured to renew its role as an event sponsor.
Aimed at university students and those studying at higher educational institutions who wish to grow their career in the field of ADR, the competition will pose a concrete problem to participants, who compete in rounds over the course of the moot.
The aim is to give law students a clinical tool to experience the resolution of international commercial disputes by arbitration – something the business community has a marked preference for.
Commenting on CIArb’s renewed involvement in the competition, Neil Newman, Director of Communications and Membership said:
“We want to support students who aspire to a career in ADR. As a sponsor of the competition, we have a special interest in students and the benefits they receive as members of CIArb. They can tap into the Institute’s young members’ network, attend regional seminars and events, and get access to news and opinions within the international community. We think that is so important.”
CIArb will be in attendance at the moot and will be promoting a special student membership offer to encourage attendees to further their career as part of CIArb’s diverse ADR community.
