International Arbitration Conferences 2017

Friday 23 December 2016

With a successful 2016 drawing to a close, CIArb is planning to examine 'The Synergy and Divergence between Civil Law and Common Law in International Arbitration' next year. The theme will be developed via three conferences targeted to identify the issues and then develop solutions and a pragmatic approach to the understanding and utilisation of both systems within arbitration.

The programme commences in Dubai looking at the topic from the perspective of the Middle East and Asia. This will be followed by a conference in Africa to build on the subjects identified in Dubai. The culmination of the project will take place in Paris where Europe and the Americas will pull the whole undertaking together.

At each conference there will be panels from legislators, judiciary, in-house counsel and corporates, academics, arbitrators and party representatives.
