On 15 September 2017, the Kenya YMG held an event at Kabarak Law School in Nakuru, Kenya. The event was attended by over 200 students.
The speakers discussed the main types of ADR, opportunities in ADR, ADR in the construction industry, and the role of students and younger professionals in ADR.
Members of the Kenya YMG who spoke at this event included Mercy Okiro MCIArb, Nderitu Sam Mbiriri MCIArb, current Vice Chair of the Kenyan Branch James Ngotho Kariuki MCIArb, Jackson Macharia Githu MCIArb, Gyavira Namulanda ACIArb and Brian Gatune ACIArb.
The law school administration was represented by Mr Ongoya, Ms Julie Lugulu, and Justus Otiso who ensured that the event went well. The administration promised to conduct intensive ADR training for students through liaisons with the Kenya YMG Steering Committee.

Significant progress on Advisory Centre for International Investment Law at UNCITRALIn 2017, UNCITRAL Working Group III (WGIII) was launched and was tasked with working on procedural reform of the investor state dispute settlement (ISDS) system. From 1-5 April 2024, Ciarb participated in the 48th session of WGIII in its capacity as an observer delegate.
