The CIArb Scottish Branch is pleased to invite you to our event on Cyber Security. Taking place on 26 October 2021.
The Speaker shall be Brandon Malone. Brandon is a practicing Solicitor Advocate and Barrister and regularly acts as Arbitrator and Adjudicator. In addition to many years of service on the Scottish Branch Committee, he is currently Chairman of the Scottish Arbitration Centre. He also chairs the ICCA-New York City Bar-CPR Institute Working Group on Cybersecurity in International Arbitration and is a Law Society of Scotland Certified Specialist in Cyber Security.
Dispute resolution processes are susceptible to cyber attacks. The pandemic has forced dispute resolution into the virtual world, opening the possibility of efficiency savings, but also increasing exposure of the process to hackers. Good cybersecurity practices are key to maintaining users’ confidence in the system.
In this seminar, Brandon Malone will consider the ways in which a duty to maintain cybersecurity can arise, the various types of cyber threats, how questions of information security ought to be addressed in a dispute resolution process, and what happens when there has been a breach.
Registration: Pre-registration is required.
