The Iberian Chapter meets with the Italian Chapter
The Iberian Chapter of CIArb’s European Branch is pleased to welcome the Italian Chapter who will share their perspectives on ethical issues in arbitration from their experiences of handling arbitration challenges in Italy. Panellists will discuss the relevant rules and regulations a applied in Italy via analysis of three cases: a) WADA vs Sun Yang + FINA; b) Halliburton vs. Chubb; c) Beg vs Italy.
This webinar will provide an expanded view of recent developments in ensuring independence, impartiality, transparency, and professionalism in arbitration. Panellists will focus on important ethical obligations that arise when considering issues of liabilities and rights. Panellists will also discuss how ethics in arbitration and the wider ADR field are important tools in guiding parties through contentious international disputes.
Come explore the new frontiers and challenges in addressing disclosure obligations while fulfilling the fundamental duty to preserve the integrity, diligence and fairness of the arbitral process. Event Speakers
Nazareth Romero is Partner at Ovoli Frugoni Romero, Head Arbitration and ADR specialising in commercial and investment Arbitration. Her area of practice includes. IP Rights, domain names, life sciences, white collar crimes in connection to international humanitarian law and crisis management.
She is a professor of Arbitration, ADR, Law & Economics and International Law. Mrs Romero is an External Expert at Directorate General Justice – European Commission.
Jacopo Monaci is the Chairman of the European Branch of the CIArb. He is a member of AIA, CEA, DRBF, ArbIt and a lecturer at FIDRA. Mr Monaci is listed as DRB expert at the Camera Arbitrale di Milano. He achieved his LL.M. at University College of London.
Hector Sbert is a partner at ECIJA in Barcelona and a representative of the Iberian Chapter of CIArb in the Greater Barcelona Area. He advises national and international clients from all industrial sectors in the fields of commercial litigation, international arbitration and insolvency law. Dr Sbert is also a Mediator registered with the Spanish Ministry of Justice.
Roberto Oliva provides Counsel at Pavia e Ansaldo in Milan. He advises clients on litigation and arbitration matters. His areas of practice include commercial, corporate insolvency law. Mr Oliva is a member of The International Bar Association (IBA), the “Associazione Italiana dell’Arbitrato (AIA)” and The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
Giovanni Profazio is a lecturer at “Diritto e Impresa” of “Sole 24 Ore Business School” in Rome. He assists clients in the field of international commercial contracts and international arbitration. He is a member of The Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA), the “Associazione Italiana dell’Arbitrato (AIA)” and a fellow of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
Antonio Amusategui Batalla, Lawyer and Arbitrator, is a member in the Board of the European Branch of CIArb and Chair of The Iberian Chapter. He holds a Master's in Economics, Business Administration and Law.
His activity has been developed over more than three decades and is focused on planning ventures and investments, negotiation processes and dealing approaches in areas as real estate and urban land development, property assets and portfolios and advising on financial and monetary policies. Recently he has gained experience in blockchain, crypto and virtual assets and the art asset investment and advisory. He has also had a presence in ad-hoc multicultural and multitasked teams for achievements related to the above topics.
In the last few years he has assisted on financial and monetary policies, value channel and market innovation; and has taken a seat in virtual assets, blockchain, crypto industry and art investment sector and ventures.
From time to time, he supports third parties on the matters above.
