Job Title: Independent Arbitrator & Mediator of ADR Vietnam Chambers LLC

Mr Nguyen, after having founded Dzungsrt & Associates LLC in 1997, now become one of the leading arbitration law firms in Vietnam, has established ADR Vietnam Chambers LLC, a new platform for independent arbitrators and mediators in Vietnam.

He has served as an expert witness and legal counsel in international arbitrations conducted under various international arbitration rules such as ICC, SIAC, JCAA and UNCITRAL. He has regularly been appointed as co-arbitrator and presiding arbitrator in various VIAC arbitrations. His areas of practice include Admiralty and Maritime Law, Arbitration, Dispute Resolution & Mediation, Commercial Law, Contracts, Insurance and Re-insurance, International Law, International Trade, Litigation and Transportation. He has assisted international clients in pursuing enforcement proceedings in Vietnam of many arbitral awards rendered by the ICC, ICA, GAFTA, JCAA, LMAA and SIAC.

Mr Nguyen was directly involved in editing and drafting the Act on Commercial Arbitration of Vietnam in 2010, the Governmental Decree no. 20/CP on commercial mediation and the guiding documents, and Civil Procedure Code 2015 on recognising and enforcing foreign arbitral awards and mediated settlement agreements. He was the co-founder and vice president of the Pacific International Arbitration Center (PIAC). He was later listed as an arbitrator of the Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC), the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (KCAB International) and Hainan International Arbitration Court (HIAC), Hongkong International Arbitration Center (HKIAC) of China, as well as an accredited mediator on the panels of Vietnam Mediation Center (VMC), Mainland Hongkong joint mediation centre (MHJMC), apan International Mediation Center of Japan (JIMC Kyoto) and HIAC International Mediation Center of China.

He obtained his first degree in law from Hanoi University of Law in 1990, was trained in maritime law by solicitors of Sinclair Roche & Temperley, a London Shipping Law Firm from 1993-1997 and then got his LL.M Degree specialised in International Dispute Resolution from Queen Mary, the University of London, in 2008. He has extensively published articles, papers and book chapters on arbitration, mediation and international dispute resolution practice.
