CIArb YMG Writing Competition 2021

CIArb is pleased to invite anyone aged 40 years and under on the date of submission to participate in the CIArb YMG writing competition 2021. This year’s competition invites participants to preside over an Arbitral Tribunal Ruling under the 1976 UNCITRAL rules in an investor-state arbitration seated in London, England.

The Essay Competition will be judged by an Editorial Jury composed of Alexander G. Leventhal, Ana Gerdau de Borja, Noreen Kidunduhu, Kabir Dugal, Dharam Jumani, Trisha Mitra, and Amanda Lee and an Honorary Jury composed of former CIArb President Nayla Comair-Obeid, Tafadzwa Pasipanodya, Maria-Irene Perruccio, Nikos Lavranos, and Jaroslav Kudrna.

The winner will be invited to speak at the CIArb YMG conference and will also be profiled in the CIArb YMG newsletter. The five finalist submissions shall be published on the CIArb website.

Note for participants

  • All participants must be under the age of 40 years old as of 15 October 2021.
  • All submissions must be the original work of their authors.
  • Only one submission may be made by competitor.
  • No submissions may be co-authored.

Deadline date: 11:00pm London time, 15 October 2021
