CIArb highlights from 2021

Our global ADR community grew in 2021! CIArb’s membership increased to over 17,000 professional members and over 10,000 Student members across 42 branches. Despite a challenging year, we trained over 5,000 people globally, made more appointments through our Dispute Appointment Scheme and became the sole provider of Arbitration Referral Services for the Pubs Code Adjudicator (PCA). Nudging Towards a Greener Future in Arbitration

It is now almost universally accepted that human activity has caused climate change and behavioural changes are an essential mitigation measure. The recent United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26), which took place from 31 October to 13 November 2021, has produced the “Glasgow Climate Pact”, which has been described as neither a triumph nor a train wreck.

CIArb Guidelines on jurisdictional challenges: a practical perspective and its relevance for Brazilian domestic arbitrations

The CIArb has a series of guidelines related to arbitration, which serve to promote harmony and uniformity in the practice of these proceedings. Overall, there are 13 guidelines, which deal with several subjects and provide valuable guidance to the players of arbitration.
