Ciarb’s Annual Report and Accounts for 2022 were approved by members at the Annual General Meeting on 14 September 2023.

Despite challenging global circumstances, Ciarb reported strong performance in 2022. Here are some of the headline achievements:

  • 3% increase in professional membership to 17,398 – the highest ever membership number.
  • 9% income growth as a result of increased membership and course take-up.
  • 10% increase in the number of people trained through Ciarb courses.
  • 8,000 people reached through 27 events. With 200 speakers from 47 countries, 57% of whom were female.
  • Published the Use of Technology in International Arbitration Guideline.
  • Launched the Ciarb Pakistan Branch.
  • Secured agreement from members and the Privy Council for essential changes to Governance, and the power to award the new designation of Chartered Adjudicator.

Catherine Dixon, CEO of Ciarb, says, “Ciarb’s achievements would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of our volunteers, members, staff, and partners. I urge members to read the Annual Report 2022 which details the full breadth of activities and results across Ciarb. We are proud of the work we do to support members and encourage each and every member to explore and use their membership benefits to the full. In the next few weeks, we will issue our membership survey to help us understand how we can better support our members. I would like to thank, in advance, our membership for sharing their valuable insights and helping us to improve.”

The Ciarb membership survey will be run over September and October 2023. We have commissioned an independent market research consultancy, Research by Design, to conduct this research. Members will be invited to participate in this important project in the coming weeks.
