On behalf of everyone at Ciarb, we send our sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Chandrakant Kamdar who has sadly passed away.
Chandrakant Kamdar C.Arb FCIArb CFE CAMS was an independent arbitrator, fraud examiner and anti-money laundering specialist with over 50 years’ experience in finance and commercial related services.
Chandrakant joined Ciarb in April 2002 and in December the same year he became the first Chartered Arbitrator in India.
Over the years, he generously contributed his expertise, time and effort to Ciarb. He was a member of Ciarb’s Education and Membership Committee and was a respected member of Ciarb’s teaching faculty, fulfilling the roles of tutor, examiner, moderator and assessor.
A key and active member of the Ciarb India Branch, Chandrakant was Branch Secretary and, since 2010, the Branch’s Director of Training.
We will miss him.

Significant progress on Advisory Centre for International Investment Law at UNCITRALIn 2017, UNCITRAL Working Group III (WGIII) was launched and was tasked with working on procedural reform of the investor state dispute settlement (ISDS) system. From 1-5 April 2024, Ciarb participated in the 48th session of WGIII in its capacity as an observer delegate.
