New York Branch courses in May 2019

CIArb NY Branch is pleased to present its two courses which will take place in May 2019 in New York. The first one is a Comprehensive Course on International  Arbitration and the second is an Accelerated Route to Fellowship (ARF).

The courses may be taken together or separately.

Comprehensive Course on International Arbitration 13-17 May 2019

A week-long systematic and comprehensive examination of the law and practice of international arbitration.

The course features lecture and interactive segments and is designed for arbitrators, advocates, in-house counsel and others interested in international arbitration.

Course directors include George A. Bermann, Jean Monnet Professor of EU Law, Walter Gellhorn Professor of Law, FCIArb and Patron of the CIArb NY Branch; Thomas  D. Halket, FCIArb, C Arb, President of the  CIArb; Kabir Duggal, FCIArb,  Attorney, Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP and  Richard L. Mattiaccio, FCIArb, C Arb, Partner, Allegaert Berger & Vogel LLP.

CIArb Accelerated Route to Fellowship (ARF)  20-22 May 2019

A fast-track route towards Fellowship in the Chartered Institute through the International Pathway.

This course includes both a candidate assessment and an award writing examination (CIArb Module 4). It assesses whether the candidate has sufficient knowledge required to apply the principles and procedure of international arbitration based on the UNCITRAL Model Law and UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. Upon successful completion of this course, an applicant will have completed all the course requirements for Institute Fellowship.

Prior to registering for the ARF or both courses, we strongly advise you to write to education@ciarbny.org briefly describing your background and experience in international arbitration. An ARF director will review the international arbitration experience you provide and will respond with a recommendation as to whether you are an appropriate candidate for the ARF at this time.
