On 31 March 2021, CIArb’s East Anglia branch held its awards ceremony for its first Alternative Dispute Resolution essay competition for university students.

Following today’s sad announcement of the passing of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators sends its deepest condolences to Her Majesty the Queen and to the Royal Family.

It is with great sadness that we learnt of Emmanuel Gaillard’s passing on April 1st. The European Branch of the CIArb would like to express its deepest condolences to his family and colleagues, but also to the entire arbitration community worldwide. In France, Europe and beyond, we are all mourning this renowned figure of international arbitration.

CIArb’s Egypt branch was established on 5 February 1999 as the first ever CIArb Branch in the region.

CIArb's Egypt Branch held several events between July 2020 and March 2021. These covered a variety of topics, ranging from construction to the impact of online dispute resolution.

CIArb’s Taiwan Chapter was honoured to co-host a conference on the topic of "Case analysis of various types of legal disputes - prospects and trends of ADR from the perspective of new laws and practices.
