Areas of Expertise:

I am a corporate commercial and dispute resolution practitioner with competencies and experience in litigation and arbitration.

Admitted to practise in Zambia, I have worked in the legal industry as a private practitioner from 2005. I advise clients in the mining, banking and financial services, pensions, insurance, telecommunications, manufacturing, construction, energy, tourism, logistics, public and not for profit space. I am a corporate advisory and commercial dispute resolution specialist.

I have acted as counsel in various disputes including construction, mining, joint ventures, shareholder and intellectual property related disputes. I have also sat as sole arbitrator and as tribunal member in domestic references including references from the Chartered Institute of Arbitration UK (CIArb) Zambia branch. I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration UK (FCIArb). I have competencies in UNCITRAL and ICC Arbitrations. I am also an International Associate Member of the American Bar Association (ABA), a member of the ADR and Arbitration Committees of the ABA and a member of the African Arbitration Association (AfAA). I am a listed Neutral of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Centre and a member of the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) University of London Arbitration and Mediation Centre (SADRC).

Furthermore, I am senior counsel, and have competencies and experience in civil litigation with particular experience in domestic and international commercial litigation. I have audience before all Courts of Record and Tribunals in Zambia.

Additionally, I am a corporate and commercial advisor, a certified corporate insolvency practitioner, an IP practitioner, a competition lawyer and a notary public.

I have and currently serve in various capacities on the Boards of various local and regional corporates and non governmental organisations. I am the Managing Partner and owner of Kaumbu Mwondela Legal Practitioners (http://kmlp.co.zm/ ). Outside the Firm, I am an avid fitness follower and amateur cyclist.
