David is a Barrister, Nationally Accredited Mediator (Australia), and an Arbitrator. David has a broad commercial litigation and ADR practice. He has previously worked as a lawyer at DLA Phillips Fox (now DLA Piper Australia). He is also a sessional member of the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) (appointed in 2016) and is currently an adjunct lecturer at The University of Melbourne, Law School.

David has acted in matters involving, among others, importers, exporters, local and international banks and financial institutions, public hospitals, property developers, construction firms, and publicly listed companies in the manufacturing, health and agricultural sectors.

David has a Master of Laws from The University of Melbourne, in which he focused on private international law and international commercial arbitration. In addition to his current role as an adjunct lecturer with the University, he has lectured in Business and Corporate Law, Private International Law, Property Law, Advocacy, and Ethics and Professional Responsibility at other institutions.

As a barrister, he has appeared for parties in arbitral proceedings and provided advice on matters such as, the validity and scope of exclusive jurisdiction, governing law and arbitration clauses, as well as applications for stay of proceedings and anti-suit injunctions.

As a member of the VCAT for over 7 years, David has presided over numerous cases involving Consumer Law, Domestic Building Law, and Owners Corporations Law.
