Daniel is a Senior Associate in Mayer Brown's International Arbitration practice, based in Singapore.

Daniel specialises in dispute resolution with a particular focus on international commercial and investment treaty arbitration. His practice comprises of multi-jurisdictional work subject to a range of governing laws primarily in the aviation, energy, hotels, infrastructure, mining and telecommunications sectors. He advises and represents clients in disputes and international arbitrations under various institutional rules (including AIAC, BANI, DIAC, ICC, ICSID, UNCITRAL, SIAC and VIAC). Daniel also has experience in other forms of dispute resolution, including mediation, expert determination, and commercial and appellate litigation.

Apart from being a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Daniel is an accredited HKIAC Tribunal Secretary, a panel arbitrator of the CIArb Business Arbitration Scheme. He is an Adjunct Lecturer in Taylor's University where he teaches international arbitration. Daniel has been published on issues relating to international arbitration and dispute resolution, and writes regularly on legal developments in arbitration in Malaysia.

Daniel's experience includes advising and representing:
- an ASEAN state on a claim of foreign sovereign immunity in proceedings brought in another ASEAN jurisdiction
- a telecommunications conglomerate in an ICSID arbitration against a South Asian state
- a global luxury hotel chain in ICC and SIAC arbitration proceedings to restrain parallel litigations commenced by hotel property owners in Thailand in breach of the parties' arbitration agreements
- a state-owned energy company in SIAC emergency arbitrator proceedings to restrain a parallel arbitration in India commenced in breach of the parties' arbitration agreement
- a leading Chinese oil and gas company an in a multi-billion dollar SIAC arbitration in relation to their investment in the North Sea
