Damian is a testified quantum expert witness, an accomplished expert advisor, and claims manager, with a wealth of experience in dealing with the resolution of complex issues and disputes. Damian is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, with over 30 years' professional experience covering many areas of the construction and engineering industry.

Damian specialises in dispute avoidance and resolution, procurement, contract and claims management in the construction and engineering sector. He has been appointed party representative in adjudication, quantum expert witness in arbitration and litigation, testified in international arbitration, and presented at mediation hearings. He is an experienced manager of teams producing and defending claims; having prepared over one hundred claims, drafted referrals, responses, replies and rejoinders in over thirty adjudications, drafted expert reports for adjudication, arbitration and litigation, and drafted points of claim documents in arbitration and mediation.

Damian has acted for government agencies, employers, contractors and subcontractors, and has advised on some of the world’s largest construction programmes. He has provided procurement and contract advice on the development of bespoke engineering contracts and has led the development and implementation of innovative procurement strategies for major programmes and national supply agreements. He has extensive practical experience of NEC ECC, FIDIC and JCT contracts, and practical experience of ICE, MF/1, IChemE, GC/Works and many bespoke contracts.

Damian has extensive experience of international construction; including projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Jamaica, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Yemen, the Hellenic Republic, the State of Libya, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire, the Republic of Ireland, the State of Qatar, the Republic of Turkey and the United Kingdom.

Damian has a First-Class Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Quantity Surveying, a Master of Science degree in Construction Law and Arbitration, a Master of Laws degree in Construction Law and Arbitration, a National Diploma in Building Studies, and a Higher National Certificate in Building Studies. Damian is a certified expert witness, an accredited NEC Project Manager and a NEC tutor.
