Govert is dual qualified in civil and common law as a solicitor of England & Wales and a member of the Brussels Bar. He advises and represents sovereign States, international organisations and corporate clients on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious public international law and international dispute resolution issues, in particular the protection of foreign investments under international investment agreements. He represents both claimants and respondents in investment treaty arbitrations.

His experience further includes advising States, corporations and an international organisation on matters of public international law, such as treaty drafting and State and diplomatic immunities.
