Hugo is a lawyer specialized in International Commercial and Investment Arbitration with special focus on energy and construction disputes.
Prior to joining the boutique firm JM Beneyto & Associates, Hugo worked at the commecial law department, and arbitration & ADR department of a leading Spanish law firm based in Madrid. He participated as international legal advisor in corporate law, construction contracts, foreign direct investment and arbitration. He also took part of the public affairs area in the coordination of international projects with law firms in Eastern Europe and Latin America.
Among his academic activities, Hugo conducted in-depth research and analysis on International Investment Law, treaty management and dispute prevention policies as Assistant Researcher at the Center of International Arbitration, Mediation and Negotiation (CIAMEN), an academic institution based in Madrid aimed at the promotion, research and capacity building in International Dispute Resolution.
Hugo speaks fluently Spanish, English and Portuguese.
