Ian Ridd has been a Fellow of CIArb since 1994.

Whilst at the Bar, Ian specialised in commercial litigation, construction litigation, professional negligence litigation, property disputes and employment cases.

In tandem with his work as a barrister, Ian developed an extensive practice as an arbitrator, across parallel fields of work, in both domestic and international forums.
He has gained a reputation as an approachable, reliable and skilled arbitrator and one who ensures that disputes are efficiently managed and timeously decided.

Ian has particular experience and expertise in disputes arising out of the breach or termination of contracts for the supply of software and technology of all types, of contracts for the sale and carriage of goods and disputes arising out of contracts of insurance.

Ian also worked extensively as a mediator and in other areas of Alternative Dispute Resolution, most recently as a neutral evaluator.

Since retiring from practice at the Bar in 2018, Ian has concentrated on working as an arbitrator and ADR practitioner.
