Lisa Russell is an Attorney-at-Law and Partner with the legal firm, Russell & Russell where her practice consists mainly of commercial, conveyancing, maritime and probate matters.

She was admitted to the Jamaican Bar in 2006 and honed her legal skills as an Associate in the Litigation and Maritime Departments of Myers, Fletcher & Gordon with a focus on general civil and commercial litigation. In addition to private practice, she has lectured part time at the Caribbean Maritime Institute (now Caribbean Maritime University) in the subjects of Business Law, Maritime Law, and Maritime Law & International Conventions. She has also worked full-time and on a consultancy basis with one of Jamaica’s largest Logistics facilities as well as Jamaica Environment Trust, a non-profit environmental organization.

Miss Russell holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) Degree from the University of Liverpool; a Certificate of Legal Education from Norman Manley Law School; a Master of Business Administration (General Management with special emphasis on International Business Management and International Marketing & Export Strategies) Degree from Mona School of Business (UWI); a Diploma in International Shipping and Logistics from Caribbean Maritime Institute (now Caribbean Maritime University); Certificates in Mediation from the Dispute Resolution Foundation of Jamaica; Certification in International Arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators; a Certificate in Maritime Disputes and Arbitration from Lloyd’s Maritime Academy; and Certification in International Mediation from the Singapore International Mediation Centre.

Lisa is also an Arbitrator, Certified Mediator and Notary Public (for the Island of Jamaica). Her professional associations include membership of the Jamaican Bar Association since 2006 (having served on the Civil Practice and Procedure; Social Affairs and Outreach; Intellectual Property; Alternative Dispute Resolution and Maritime Attorneys committees); Women in Maritime Association, Caribbean (WiMAC) where she served as Vice President of Women & Development on the Governing Council from 2018 to 2021; Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Member of the Singapore International Mediation Centre’s Specialist Mediator Panel (Caribbean).
