The Diploma is led by Course Director Professor Dr Mohamed Abdel Wahab C.Arb FCIArb and delivered by a host of highly experienced and distinguished tutors.

Upon successfully completing the course and all corresponding assessments, you can apply to become a Ciarb Fellow. Fellowship (FCIArb) is internationally recognised and respected. When you become a Ciarb Fellow, you join a distinguished group of experienced alternative dispute resolution (ADR) practitioners. Fellowship unlocks eligibility to join Ciarb’s and other global dispute panels.

How is the course delivered?

The Diploma is delivered face-to-face in Oxford between 6 and 13 September 2024. It comprises a combination of lectures, seminars and interactive sessions.

How will I be assessed?

PART 1

One month before the Diploma, candidates choose and submit a general dissertation proposal from a list of subjects. They are then assigned a dissertation supervisor and submit a final 4000-word dissertation online approximately three months later. There are also two 1000-word assignments that need to be completed.

PART 2

Candidates must take and pass an online exemption test on the common law and civil law of contract and tort before commencing the Part 3 assessment.

PART 3

Candidates must take and pass an award writing assessment, which they complete at home and submit via Ciarb’s online platform.

What are the entry requirements?

To be considered for the Diploma you must meet both of the following minimum entry requirements:

  • You must have a minimum of five years’ professional workplace experience as, for example, a lawyer, surveyor, accountant, insurer, shipbroker or similar. This experience must involve communicating with others, problem-solving, managing workloads effectively, decision-making and the exercise of judgment, and;
  • You must be actively involved in and have experience of arbitration (domestic or international).

Due date for proposal and biography. Candidates will get access to the module 2 exemption test and access to the course materials.

Diploma course takes place in Oxford.

Early bird special #1:

Candidates that are accepted, register for the course and pay at least 50% of the course fee upon registration before 18 December 2023, will be given a discount on the total course fee of £9,750.

  • Non-Members early bird discount +5%
    • The fee for all three parts of the Diploma is £9,200 (VAT included in this fee).
  • MCIArb and FCIArb Members early bird discount +15%
    • The fee for all three parts of the Diploma is £8,200 (VAT included in this fee).

 

***At least 50% of the course fee must be paid upon registration of the course

***The 50% deposit is non-refundable.

***The course must be paid in full no later than 31 May 2024.

Candidates that are accepted, register for the course and pay at least 50% of the course fee upon registration between 19 December 2023 and 29 February 2024, will be given a discount on the total course fee of £9,750.

  • Non-Members early bird discount +2.5%
    • The fee for all three parts of the Diploma is £9,500 (VAT included in this fee).
  • MCIArb and FCIArb Members early bird discount +12.5%
    • The fee for all three parts of the Diploma is £8,500 (VAT included in this fee).

Candidates that are accepted, register for the course and pay at least 50% of the course fee upon registration after 29 February 2024, will not be eligible for a discount and will have to pay the full course fee of £9,750.
