Ciarb’s Module 3 course equips you to write a final, reasoned and enforceable Construction Adjudication Decision in compliance with the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996.

You will gain knowledge of the main procedural elements of construction adjudication and the skills to enable you to understand and participate in such proceedings.

On successful completion of the Module 3 assessment (available separately), you will be able to draft and publish a final, reasoned, and enforceable decision for parties. You will also be eligible to apply for Ciarb Fellowship (FCIArb) – unlocking eligibility to join Ciarb’s and other global dispute panels.

How is the course delivered?

The course comprises a combination of private study and six virtual tutorials. It is delivered virtually over a three-month period.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed via Ciarb’s learning platform, LearnADR. You will be given 48 consecutive hours within a five-day window to submit your decision online and must achieve 70% to pass.

What are the entry requirements?

To register for the course, you must meet all of the following criteria. You must have:

  • Successfully completed and passed the Ciarb Module 1: Law, Practice and Procedure of Construction Adjudication course and assessment, and;
  • Successfully completed and passed the Ciarb Module 2: Law of Obligations course and assessment, or the Module 2 Online Exemption Test, and;
  • Have a minimum of five years’ professional workplace experience as, for example, a lawyer, surveyor, accountant, insurer, shipbroker or similar. This experience must involve communicating with others, problem-solving, managing workloads effectively, decision-making and the exercise of judgment.
