The London Centenary Principles revisited by The Hawar Circle

Join Ciarb for a panel discussion taking place during the ICCA 2026 Congress in Madrid, Spain.

The Hawar Circle – a group of leading stakeholders in arbitration – looked to the Ciarb centenary principles on what makes a safe seat. The group revisited the idea of what makes a safe seat resulting in the Hawar principles now open for consultation.

At this event, the original drafters of the Ciarb London principles and the drafters of the Hawar principles sit together to discuss pathways forward to successful execution of some of these key principles.

The drafters and the Secretary of UNCITRAL will, in celebration of UNCITRAL’s 60th anniversary, look to future ways to safeguard arbitration in modern times.

Following the panel, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a short Q&A session before continuing the conversation during a networking reception. This event is open to both Ciarb members and non-members and is free to attend. In-person only.

This event is kindly hosted by University CEU San Pablo and organised in collaboration with Ciarb European Branch, Ciarb Iberian Chapter and the Global Justice Bay of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
