Ms Wei Liu

Ms. Liu possesses an extensive track record of representing and assisting large state-owned and central enterprises, listed private companies, and leading global or multinational companies in major, complex, and cutting-edge civil and commercial disputes, both domestically and internationally. Her practice encompasses major, complex, and cutting-edge cases before more than a hundred domestic courts and arbitration institutions. She has secured successful outcomes in more than ten municipal intermediate people's courts, provincial high people's courts, and the Supreme People's Court, demonstrating particular skill in securing wins in retrials following second-instance remands, achieving successful reversals on appeal, and prevailing in retrial proceedings.

In cross-border dispute resolution, Ms. Liu has extensive experience handling domestic cases with foreign-related elements. She provides strategic counsel on overseas litigation and parallel proceedings arising from cross-border liquidation or bankruptcy, as well as develops multi-jurisdictional dispute resolution strategies. Her international experience covers a wide array of jurisdictions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, India, the Netherlands, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Finland, South Africa, Australia, the Cayman Islands, the British Virgin Islands, Uzbekistan, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. She has provided opinions on PRC law and supported domestic and foreign counsels in arbitrations administered by HKIAC, SIAC, LCIA, ICC, FOSFA, AFSA, AAA-ICDR, and others, and has assisted in the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in China.

Ms. Liu also provides a wide range of specialized compliance services to domestic and international clients regarding inbound and outbound regulatory matters. Domestically, she has advised foreign clients before Chinese regulatory authorities including market supervision authorities at various levels, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), the Anti-Monopoly Bureau, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), the National Financial Regulatory Administration (NFRA), the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE), and customs authorities. Internationally, she has guided Chinese clients through the regulatory landscape of diverse markets, including the United States, Canada, France, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Denmark, Belgium, Kenya, and Mexico, among others.
