Personal bio
Daniel specialises in the valuation of quantum claims on construction and engineering projects involving aspects such as valuation and measurement, variations, delay, disruption, defective works and termination. His experience has been gained across a variety of sectors and contract forms, including projects in the United Kingdom, across mainland Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
He is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with more than 20 years’ experience of major international construction and engineering projects across various sectors of the industry. He regularly assists clients in major international arbitration or adjudication.
Daniel started his career as an apprentice welder in 2000. He began working as a quantity surveyor with construction contractors in 2003 and moved to consultancy work in 2014. He joined Secretariat in 2020.
Daniel holds an MSc in Construction Law & Dispute Resolution, a BSc (Honours) degree in Quantity Surveying, an HND in Civil Engineering and an ONC in Building Construction. He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), an Associate Member of the Academy of Experts (AMAE) and holds an Advanced Professional Award in Expert Witness Evidence from Legal Experience Training (LETAPAEWE).
