Personal bio
I, GBAKA Ernest Acho, Esq., founder of Gbaka & Co. Law Office, am a Barrister of the Supreme Court of Cameroon and a member of the Cameroon Bar Association, with over 15 years of professional experience. I am the current President of the General Assembly of the Cameroon Bar Association.
I hold two Master’s degrees—one in Business Law from the University of Yaoundé II, Soa, and another in Intellectual Property Law, jointly awarded by OAPI/WIPO and the University of Yaoundé II, Soa. I am also a holder of the highly acclaimed Harvard Law School/WIPO Academy Certificate in Patent Law and Global Public Health.
In pursuit of diligent service to my clients, I have participated in numerous seminars, workshops, and conferences, both within and outside Cameroon, in the fields of Business Law, Intellectual Property Law, Human Rights, and Humanitarian Law.
I previously served as a Global Council Member of World Commerce and Contracting (WorldCC), representing the African region, and was elected member of the jury for the WorldCC Excellence Awards 2023 in the EMEA region.
As an advocate for freedom of expression, I hold a Certificate in International Standards on Freedom of Expression, awarded by the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights, University of Oxford. I also hold a Certificate in Sports Administration from the Cameroon National Olympic and Sports Committee.
I am the Executive President of the Association Bonne Information et Gouvernance–Cameroun, and a member of Transparency International Cameroon.
