Ann-Marie Christopher-Joseph is a seasoned legal professional whose diverse career underscores her dedication to alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and community service.
Qualified as a UK Barrister in 1997 through a prestigious Lincoln’s Inn scholarship, she is admitted to the Bars of both St. Lucia and the British Virgin Islands. Her legal practice is focused on ADR, consumer rights, debt cases, small claims, regulatory law, and estate planning.
A strong advocate for accessible justice, Ann-Marie offers mediation training seminars and runs a pro bono helpdesk from her Chambers to assist individuals seeking dispute resolution support.
Ann-Maries experience as a Magistrate in both the UK and St. Lucia, where she presided over cases across family, consumer, civil, and criminal law, has solidified her reputation as a fair and insightful adjudicator. She has further served as an Arbitrator and Court-appointed Mediator on the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court roster (2013–2024).
Her tribunal work includes chairing the Accident Investigations Board for the Government of St. Lucia, where she adjudicated accident-related cases. A founding member of the Mediators Forum in St. Lucia, Ann-Marie contributes her expertise to NGOs and consumer associations, showcasing her commitment to using her legal knowledge to benefit the public. She has also been instrumental in outreach programs with the Bar Association and OECS Bar Legal Aid.
Beyond the legal sphere, Ann-Marie is a Chartered Insurer (ACII) with a background in financial planning, compliance, corporate governance, and complaints handling. Her consulting role at PricewaterhouseCoopers provided her with extensive experience advising banks, insurers, and small businesses on risk management.
Currently, Ann-Marie leads as Chair of the Red Cross Conflict Resolution and Legal Committee, where she heads a project team committed to enhancing community conflict resolution efforts. Her leadership aims to establish sustainable, accessible conflict resolution resources for her community.
