Attorney at Law admitted to practise in Estonia, with a practice focused on international commercial arbitration, cross-border disputes and private international law.
He accepts appointments as an arbitrator and acts as counsel for claimants and respondents in international commercial arbitration. His disputes practice is grounded in substantial experience in complex cross-border litigation, with particular expertise in jurisdiction, applicable law, international treaties, procedural strategy, and the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards.
His experience includes civil proceedings involving issues of public and private international law, including disputes concerning the validity of transactions authenticated by foreign consular officers and the application and interpretation of treaties on legal assistance.. He has also represented clients in international child abduction proceedings under the 1980 Hague Convention, securing favourable outcomes including decisions of the Supreme Court of Estonia.
He acts as an expert on Estonian law in foreign court proceedings, including proceedings in the United States and Latvia. His broader experience includes legal and regulatory matters in the oil and coal industries.
