Glenn focusses on the superyacht industry, and on arbitration.
Glenn’s practice includes contentious and non-contentious work with respect to superyachts. He advises clients on commercial contracts concerning among others the construction and refit of superyachts, and subcontracts, design agreements, commission agreements and finance agreements, and he represents clients in disputes in connection with these contracts. His clients include renowned Dutch shipyards, as well as ultra-high-net-worth-individuals. He also regularly acts as Dutch counsel for American and English law firms and their clients.
Glenn also represents clients in commercial and investment arbitrations under inter alia the ICC, UNCITRAL, LCIA, NAI and UNUM arbitration rules, and in related proceedings before the Dutch courts, including setting aside and enforcement proceedings. He also advises clients on associated issues such as jurisdiction, applicable law, attachments, and state immunity.
Glenn is available as arbitrator or binding advisor. He is listed on several arbitrator rosters including of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA) and the Netherlands Arbitration Institute (NAI). He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Glenn graduated in commercial law (LL.M., Rotterdam, cum laude). He is admitted to the Netherlands Bar. Glenn authored the chapter on the Netherlands in the Practical Law Enforcement of Judgments and Arbitral Awards Global Guide, as well as the module on the seat of arbitration in Kluwer Arbitration's Practical Insights modules, and he edited the chapter on the Netherlands in the Digest of Commercial Laws of the World. In 2017, he finished the Grotius Academy specialisation course National and International Contracting (cum laude).
