With 30 years of experience in Law, Sergio Fajardo is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), an entrepreneur, founding partner and legal representative of the law firm Londoño Fajardo & Asociados S.A.S. He is a Juris Doctor of the University of La Sabana with a Second Level Masters in International Commercial Law at the Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. He also has a Masters in Law, with an emphasis in Contractual and Non-contractual liability from the Externado University of Colombia, a Postgraduate in Negotiation and International Relation from the University of Andes, a PADE (Senior Business Management Program) at INALDE Business School, and Complementary Studies at Yale University. Additionally, he is a registered Arbitrator in the Conciliation and Arbitration Center of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota, member of the dispute resolution line in the Colombian Society of Engineers, and an arbitrator at the Superintendence of Companies of Colombia.
Currently, he is the President of the Association of Commissioners of the Colombian Mercantile Exchange, a member of the National Disciplinary Body of Appraisers (ANA), the legal representative of multiple construction companies, and board member of various commercial companies such as Finanzauto S.A.
In his professional development, he has managed and directed teams in the structuring of corporative businesses in private, public, national and international sectors, and is an expert in estate planning, corporative advice and ordinary and arbitration litigation.
He is a speaker, consultant and college professor, in the degree and post-degree level at various Colombian universities. His lines of research are focused on torts, reparation, corporate and antitrust law.
Previously, he was the president of the Disciplinary Chamber of the Colombian Mercantile Exchange (autoregulatory body of the financial system, law 964 of 2005), as well as a member of the surveillance committee of the Colombian Mercantile Exchange for the 2008-2014 period. He was a member of the Arbitration Chamber of the Colombian Mercantile Exchange for the 2015-2017 period. He was a legal adviser of the Extebandes Bank of Colombia, now Standard Chartered Bank of Colombia and of Fidubandes S.A. He was the lawyer to very prestigious Law Firms of Bogotá, as Estudios Palacios Lleras S.A. and Leal Angarita & Asociados Ltda.
