Personal bio
I am a former judge in Lebanon with 21 years of experience in the Lebanese judiciary. During my tenure, I have presided over different courts having jurisdiction to hear cases of civil and commercial nature at both the first instance and appeals level. My areas of expertise cover the civil code of contracts, commercial code, companies' law, real estate law, labor law, agency law, intellectual property law, the code of civil procedure, the jurisdiction of “urgent matters”, as well as cases to set aside arbitral awards according to the Lebanese code of civil procedure. During my tenure as deputy public financial prosecutor, I have investigated and prosecuted cases according to criminal law, criminal procedure code, municipality law, taxation law, the currency and credit act, anti-money laundering law, and bankruptcy law. In my capacity as chief Legal officer of Qatari investors group, a leading company in Qatar conducting activities in various business sectors ranging from the manufacture and sale of cement to marine and logistics services, transportation services, security systems and solutions, and property management, I lead the legal department and provide full legal support to all 23 subsidiaries and 10 affiliates operating under the group. My areas of responsibility cover the drafting and review of contracts and opinions according to the Qatari code of contracts, commercial code, labor law, customs law, taxation law, agency law, landlord/tenant law, the QFMA regulation, and the corporate governance code for listed entities.
